Once again our resident baboon, Frank, was the star attraction, drawing many parents and kids to our stand at the first ever Fynbos Festival, held at The Range in March. Despite cooler weather and dramatic wind gusts we were pleased to have a fantastic turnout and had the opportunity to speak to over 150 visitors, including many children, who were interested in the wonderful work we do. The children had fun “saving the fynbos” in a game facilitated by our volunteers and educators. Our thanks go to Friends of Tokai Park for running the event and for providing another opportunity to interact with children. This was a great opportunity to help them realise the value of our natural resources, including the wonders of fynbos and the threats to indigenous and endemic species in Cape Town. Friends of Tokai Park are one of our eight recipients of the small grants we offered through funds received from the Table Mountain Fund.
