On Saturday the 11th February, we hosted a graduation brunch for the graduates of our NQF level 5 Environmental Management course. Everyone had wonderful morning at the Atlantic Beach Golf Club, celebrating this milestone. The course was run in partnership with NCC Environmental Services, to whom we owe a massive thank you for the extensive training! Other partners and sponsors include the Table Mountain Fund, the City of Cape Town and LGSETA. Of the 12 learners who started the course, 11 successfully completed the very tough year of training. Unit standards covered included demonstrating an understanding of integrated water resource management, explaining the biophysical environment and developing and implementing a project plan. Well done!

The morning was attended by the graduates and their families, Linden Rhoda from NCC Environmental Services, Stephen Granger from the City of Cape Town, as well as CTEET and City managers and staff members. Everyone enjoyed the beautiful setting of the Golf Club, looking out onto Table Mountain in the background. Stephen congratulated the graduates, saying “well done for persevering and getting to the end and congratulations for choosing to be in the field of nature conservation. Conservation is a scarce commodity and its value is increasing.”

Linden left the graduates with a motivational message: “you took the opportunity – well done. Keep working hard and doors will open for you.”
