This year we have had an intake of Work Integrated (WIL) learners (Nature Conservation and Environmental Management) and three intakes of Learnership students who joined the green skills team!

These are some of the activities the groups got up to over the past few weeks: Everything from clean-ups in the natural veld, to helping with rescuing marine animals, to helping with snake captures and safe relocations, to veld inspections, alien vegetation clearing, Environmental Education talks, and the list goes on!

The work these young Eco Ambassadors are doing is remarkable and affects tangible positive change in their local sites and the communities surrounding them. All the learners have taken their roles as ambassadors for green change very seriously and work towards protecting and caring for our green spaces.

These learners are widely spread, with most learners placed in nature reserves in Cape Town and surrounding areas, even as far as Matjiesrivier Nature Reserve, Tankwa Nature Reserve, and Cape Agulhas Nature Reserve! Other surrounding sites include Simons Town, Penguin project, Blouberg Nature Reserve, Witzands Aquifer Nature Reserve, Jonkershoek Nature Reserve, Helderberg Nature Reserve, and Steenbras Dam Nature Reserve.
