Give a child their first camp
On Giving Tuesday, people everywhere give to the work they believe in. Here, R1 400 takes one child on a two-night camp at Bokbaai, and every amount brings the next child closer.
This Giving Tuesday: five children, one camp
Our goal is R7 000, enough for five children from one school to go on camp together. Every gift counts towards it, whatever its size.

Sponsors one child to attend a fully facilitated two-night environmental education camp at Bokbaai.

Ten children who would otherwise not get there. Eighty-nine percent of our groups come from under-resourced schools.
Why a camp
1,773
learners came on our overnight camps in the year to February 2026, up from 1,552 the year before. That is still short of our target of 3,000 a year: the Rondevlei campsite was closed for renovation, which halved our camp capacity.
Cape Town has roughly 100,000 learners in each grade, so camps alone will never reach everyone. That is why we also take nature learning to schools: our day programmes, from school lessons to outings, reached another 6,179 learners.
Access to nature changes perception. Repeated exposure builds understanding. Structured training builds competence. A first camp is where that begins, and your gift is what gets the next child there.
Twenty-five years
Nature Connect turns twenty-five this year. The children who get to camp next year are where the next twenty-five begin.
