This year’s Fynbos Forum took place from 6 to 8 August at the Protea Hotel Stellenbosch Techno Park. Fynbos Forum is a gathering of passionate individuals dedicated to the conservation of South Africa’s unique fynbos biome. The event brought together natural scientists, researchers, planners, and many others, all united by a common goal: to secure the future of fynbos.

Key themes included innovative solutions to tackle alien vegetation, from drone spraying to ecological restoration within stewardship frameworks. The forum emphasised the value of diversity, inclusivity, and collaboration in environmental stewardship. It was inspiring to see so many stakeholders come together, sharing knowledge and strategies to advance a just and sustainable world in the Greater Cape Floristic Region.

Being part of this dedicated community reminds us that our efforts are not isolated – we are part of a broader movement committed to conserving fynbos and caring for people.
